Sylvia Borkofsky Obituary

Sylvia Mary Borkofsky (Cusitar)

On November 18, 1958 a quiet, beautiful angel was born to Stella and Clarence Cusitar of Russell, Manitoba. A red-haired baby sister for her older brothers Brian, Dave and Glen to love. Sylvia was never able to meet her older sister Susan. On September 3, 1977 she married Douglas Borkofsky. All she desired from her life was the happiness of her family. On May 25, 2022, Sylvia passed away after a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle against cancer.

She leaves her loving husband of close to forty-five years to cherish their children: Son Jason, special granddaughter Jennifer and great grandchildren Vance, Halo and Branston. Son Michael and daughter-in-law Shannon (Jakeman), grandchildren Alyssa and Reece. Son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Darcy (Jeanes), grandchildren Grady, Vaughn and Rowan. We all now have a very special angel watching over us.

In honour of her quiet, loving nature she desired to be cremated with no formal service or recognition. Sylvia’s wishes are for all of her family, friends and acquaintances, who so desire, to attend a celebration of her life which will be announced at a later date.

Sylvia was born hearing impaired. She was thankful to the Lions Club of Russell, MB for helping her parents purchase her first hearing aid at a very young age. Flowers are gratefully declined. The family requests that donations be made in Sylvia’s name to the Palliative Care Ward in the Roblin Health Centre, (Roblin District community Foundation for Palliative Care Ward at Roblin Hospital Box 1599, Roblin, MB R0L 1P0); your local community service club, or the Canadian Cancer Society (415 1st St. Brandon MB R7A 2W8.)
