Georgena Ungrin

     Georgena Pat Ungrin of Russell passed away at the Personal Care Home in Roblin on June 16, 2021 at the age of 89.
Pat was born on August 17, 1931 one of 15 children born to George and Peggy Souter. Her surviving siblings are Helen Goldstrand and Lawrence Souter.  In the late 1940s, Pat played backcatcher with Aunt Beth as the pitcher, in baseball tournaments. Aunt Beth had a strong arm and a brother named Harold. Pat and Harold were married on December 24, 1949.
    In the late 1950s they moved from Dropmore to Russell, starting an auto wrecking business that became the Ford dealership. Mom was the bookkeeper. After retiring mom and dad moved to several places. Mom worked in Calgary for awhile to be near some of her children. She returned to Benito then moved to Russell.
     Pat loved to watch her children and grandchildren play sports. While watching their grandchildren play hockey Pat met Jim  and they became very good friends.  She married Jim Ungrin on July 1st 2000 and together they also enjoyed golfing and curling.
     Pat was recently predeceased by her husband Jim Ungrin and her son Danny Jones.
     She will be sadly missed by her Children Gordon (Robin) Jones, Bev Nicol (Zow-Barry Matthews ), Lloyd (Jackie) Jones, Darcy (Diana) Jones, Penny (Peter) Ingram-Cotton, Pam (George) Ritchie, and daughter-in-law Colleen Jones.  Her step children Fran (Bob) Wasyliw, Kim (Greg) Radford, Darren (Corrine) Ungrin. Predeceased by Barry Ungrin.  She was Auntie Pat to many nieces and nephews. Mom had 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.  

      In keeping with Georgene wishes, cremation will take place and a family graveside service will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of Georgena will be to Crocus Court Personal Care Home (15 Hospital Street, Roblin, MB R0L 1P0).  To leave a note of condolence please visit nairnchyzwolkowski.ca
