Claudette Mousseau Obituary

Claudette Mousseau
March 27, 1939 - June 3, 2020
Mom passed on at Grandview Personal Care Home with her daughter lovingly by her side on June 3, 2020 at the age of 81 years.  Mom was born in Chisholm Twp., Ontario to Rosario and Leona Chartrand.  At the age of 2 years she was adopted by her Aunt and Uncle Cyrilda and Edward Duchene. In Ontario, Mom worked for Children's Aid Society.  As a foster parent, she had over 90 teenagers in her home over the years.  Each one was special to her.  Her children and their families made several trips from out of province to visit her.  They shared videos and messages to stay connected even though they were miles apart.   Mom relocated to Grandview in 2002.  In her last 8 years, dementia & Alzheimer’s took over her mind and body.  She continued to live a happy and fulfilled life at the Grandview Personal Care Home.
She is survived by her 8 children: Lil (Rick) Porter, William (Victoria), Ken, Debbie (Milton) Dennie, Therese LaPointe (Ralph), John, Pommy (Roger) Palmer and Ralph, brother Doug (Marlene) Chartrand, Sister-in-laws Jan and Rose Duchaine and Sandra Chartand, 17 grandchildren, 14 great and 2 great-great grand children.
Mom is predeceased by her brothers Leo & Reg Duchaine and Ralph Chartrand, her parents as well as her beloved dogs.
Everyone who knows Mom knows she loved to sing.  Music was her passion!  She has a beautiful singing voice and I am sure she is singing in heaven.  We will forever treasure our conversations without many words, the time listening & singing to music and many laughs, smiles and embraces.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at the Grandview Memorial Cemetery in Grandview, MB. Rev Karen Kuzek will officiate.

                                                                                                  Until we meet again.
